Oficial: Mutya ha abandonado las Sugababes

Ha ocurrido hace 10 días, pero me acabo de enterar.

Extraigo el comunicado de su web oficial:

Sugababes Official Announcement

There has been intense speculation all week about the future of the Sugababes and we can confirm today that Mutya has officially left the band. Mutya’s decision is based purely on personal reasons and she will continue to remain the best of friends with both Keisha and Heidi. The Sugababes will of course continue with Keisha and Heidi who will be joined by a new member, to be announced in the next 24 hours.

Here’s what the ‘babes say in their own words:

Mutya: “I’ve enjoyed an unbelievable career so far and I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved with Sugababes over the years. My decision to leave the band at this point is based purely on my personal reasons. It was very difficult but definitely not a snap decision. I signed up for being in Sugababes at the age of 13 and have spent my entire life devoted to making and performing music. I think there comes a time when everyone wants to re-evaluate their life and what they want out of it. For me that time has now come. For a long time I have been discussing with Heidi and Keisha our plans for the future and it got to the point where I honestly felt that the commitment I would need to make to Sugababes over the next 12 months was something that would become compromised by me. Clearly that wouldn’t have been fair to Heidi or Keisha or most of all to our fans. Certainly, my departure from the band would never mean the end of Sugababes. We were all in total agreement that a new member would enable the band to continue and I’m delighted that the new girl is taking my place. She’s so lucky to be getting one of the best jobs in the world! And certainly my leaving the band doesn’t mean I won’t be seeing Heidi or Keisha any more. We’ll still be seeing each other and I’ll definitely be taking Tah to all of their gigs.”

Keisha: “When the decision was made, we had a band meeting to discuss the future. I think for our fans, the one thing Sugababes has come to stand for above all else is our consistent and unique style of music. Obviously, it goes without saying that we will all miss Mutya, but we also knew there was still a place for bringing in somebody new who could help us carry on taking the Sugababes brand of music forward.”

Heidi: “Our management introduced us to someone they had been working with who undoubtedly had an amazing voice, who looked great and, just as important, was already a big fan of the band! When we all met her, we instantly knew she was the only person to share the rest of the journey with us. Next year, we’ve got so much to look forward to with our own UK Tour in March and April, and we can’t wait to be doing Take That’s sold-out stadium tour as their Special Guests next summer. Mutya’s still going to be missed but it’s great that we’re parting company still as best friends.”

Fans, although sad about the departure of one of the founder members of the Sugababes, should be exited about the next phase in Europe’s No.1 girl group. They have crafted back-to-back triple-platinum albums, sold one million singles in the UK, had four number ones , earned a Brit Award, a Q Award, an MTV Award, a Smash Hits Award and an Elle Style Award.

This is a new and exciting chapter in the Sugababes colourful history and future. The babes wish Mutya the very best for her future and also want thank their fans for their continued support and look forward to introducing their new line up and kicking off 2006 in a massive way.

Sugababe Announcement - new member announced.

As reported yesterday on www.sugababes.com, the Sugababes, today announce that their line up has now changed with immediate effect. Following a week of intense media speculation, management have confirmed that Mutya Buena has departed the band and Keisha Buchanan and Heidi Range will continue as the Sugababes, being joined by another member to complete the trio.

The lucky new Sugababe is revealed as being Amelle Berrabah, a 21 year old from Hampshire. Amelle, who is of Moroccan descent, commented: “For years I’ve dreamt of breaking into the music business but never did I dream of waking up one day to be the 3rd Sugababe! They’re the biggest girl group in the country and absolutely the only band I would ever thought about joining. When their manager approached me with the offer, I was in such a state of shock that I couldn’t even answer him! Like millions of girls my age, I’ve grown up with Sugababes’ music as a soundtrack to my life and I’ve been a fan of theirs for years. I still can’t believe my luck!”

The band’s manager, Mark Hargreaves, assured fans that Keisha, Mutya and Heidi remain the best of friends. Mutya took the decision because she wanted a break from the heavy media commitments involved in promoting their No.1 triple-platinum-selling new album Taller In More Ways, and their new single Ugly, which is currently enjoying its 3rd week inside the Top 10 UK Singles Chart, and the follow up to their European smash No.1 hit Push The Button.

Qué horror, si ya fue una pena que se fuera Siobhan Donaghy tras el primer disco, que se vaya ahora la voz más personal y el alma del grupo ya las deja en nada.

En fin, otro grupo más que acaba de morir. Una pena, su primer disco es excelente, el segundo está muy bien y el tercero es bueno. El cuarto me ha decepcionado, pero no me esparaba esto.

Fue bonito mientras duró, gracias Sugababes. Descansad en paz.

Vaya,es una lástima,yo solo he escuchado unas cuantas canciones del segundo y he escuchado completos el tercero y el cuarto, Shape y Stronger,el que mas me ha gustado es el tercero y el cuarto no se me hizo muy bueno pero viendo la foto de la nueva integrante no se le ve mucho carisma .


En lo personal la voz de Mutya me parecia la que le daba un toque especial a las canciones de ellas.

Se llama Amelle. Ella formaba parte de un grupo de cuatro chicas que querian pegar fuerte en el panorama musical americano por la misma compañia de Sugababes. Cuando Mutya dijo q se queria ir le ofrecieron a ella el puesto. Lo de Mutya ya se sabia desde hacia tiempo.

Ahora Amelle lleva tiempo trabajando con las otras, regrabando el disco anterior que se relanzara en primavera. Red Dress será el primer single con Amelle y el video se filmará en febrero en Tokyo.

Sí, lo pone en el primer post . Gracias por la info sobre ella!!

Es una pena, la voz de Mutya me gusta mucho y tenía un toque muy personal; además, desde la marcha de Siobhan era la voz principal del grupo. Dudo mucho que puedan reemplazar su ausencia; y además, la nueva tiene cara de tonta xDDD .

En fin, de todas formas para mi las verdaderas Sugababes siempre serán estas:



Canciones como Overload, Look At Me, Run For Cover, New Year, Lush Life, Soul Sound o Same Old Story dificilmente podrán ser superadas por diferentes versiones 2.0 o 3.0 del grupo. Menos mal que Siobhan sigue en activo por su cuenta y con un sonido mucho más parecido al One Touch. Cameron McVey es un GRAN productor.

Del Angel With Dirty Faces también hay buenos temas muy destacables: Stronger, Freak Like Me, Angels With Dirty Faces, Round Round, More Than A Million Miles y sobre todo la inmensa Shape. Un muy buen disco pop, aunque para mi inferior al debut. El Three ya es más típico teen-pop, pero bueno, se salva por algunas canciones como Hole In The Head, la preciosa Caught In A Moment, A Million Different Ways, Whatever Makes You Happy o Too Lost In You. El Taller In More Ways no me gusta, hasta Push The Button es sosa, todo un bluf.

Vanil coincido totalmente en todo lo que has dicho. Las sugababes son las del primer disco...aunque sí es cierto que han sacado canciones muy buenas desde entonces...pero temo que con la marcha de Mutya ese sonido que las caracterizaba se pierda.

Por cierto me ha entrado curiosidad por el album de Siobhan Donaghy pero en el emule hay muy pocas fuentes. Alguien podria colgarlo aqui si lo tiene? Se lo agradecería mucho, en especial las canciones Overrated y Man without friends que las escuché en una pagina de ella y me parecen muy buenas. Gracias! 1saludo

En cuanto tenga un momento, lo cuelgo en yousendit y te paso el link por MP. También meteré las caras-b de los maxis en el RAR, para que tengas toooodo lo grabado por ella en solitario. Si te gusta One Touch, creo que te va a gustar.

Ah! y si eres coleccionista de videoclips como yo , en el eMule están el de Overrated y las dos versiones de Twist Of Fate para bajar.

Bumpeo el post para haceros eco de los últimos rumores: Según el programa británico Top Of The Pops (haciéndose eco de The Mirror ¬¬!!), Mutya empezará una carrera en solitario; ya está en conversaciones con Island Records.

Busier In More Ways

What is Mutya Buena up to? It's only been a month since she announced she was leaving the Sugababes cos the schedule was just too hectic for a young working mother. Now the papes are ablaze with rumours that she's about to sign a solo record deal, which is surely going to involve quite a lot MORE work...weird, eh?

One of her least-reliable mates told the Mirror: "Mutya is going solo. She's in talks with Island Records, who look after the Sugababes, to sort out a deal. Then it will be all go. She's so excited."

And that's not all she's excited about. Not content with raising little Tahlia and becoming a solo pop star in her own right, Mutya is also planning a great big party!

She said: "I've been so busy. I'm organising my daughter's christening and there's so much to do."

Well, whose fault is that, eh?

Bueno, teniendo en cuenta que The Mirror fue el primer tabloide que dió la noticia de la salida de Mutya en el grupo, esperemos que esta vez también acierten.

A mi me encanta la voz de Mutya, tiene un estilo y un timbre de voz muy particular...espero que sea cierto este rumor y que haga un buen album.

Vaya, coincido en que cuando se fue la primera chica, la rubia, vale, seguian sacando buenas canciones pero a mi se me hacia muy raro verlas con la otra, pero ahora ya con esta perdida... como que no
Aunque miren Destiny's Child los cambios que ha sufrido, aunque tambien es cierto que la mayoria de sus exitos fueron con el trio actual.

Ahora renace de entre las cenizas este post, pues si, resulta que como ya fue oficial la salida de Mutya (mi favorita del grupo y que la voy a extrañar ) pues ahora ya es oficial tambien el re-lanzamiento del disco, 27 de Febrero, con portada diferente y con la chica nueva,


eso si, canción nueva incluida en el álbum "Now Your Gone" y nuevo trabajo de voces en la canción "Gotta Be You" y "Fallow Me Home" de Amelle.
